Beginner's Photography Courses £135 Book Below Choose a Photography Course

CollageThese One Day Digital SLR Photography Courses are limited to six students and will suit anyone from the complete beginner to the intermediate DSLR photographer.

Many novice photographers tend to use their expensive Digital SLR Camera on the fully auto setting and are often unimpressed by the average results this achieves. If you intend to use your camera like this you may as well stick with a compact camera. These One Day Photography Courses will explain in simple terms when to use all the other settings and we'll show you how to take stunning photographs you will be proud to hang on your wall.

Camera Course Suitable for the Complete Beginner Choose a Photography Course

student CollageAll our Digital SLR photography courses start off with the absolute basics and progress, step by step, through to some of the more technical aspects. Each camera operation or photography lesson is followed by a demonstration then a practical session.

After the camera and outdoor practical photography sessions we review the images and offer constructive feedback. This is followed by photo-editing tutorial where we will show you how to get the very best from your your photographs. Hybrid or Bridge Photography Course

Photograpgraphy Course CollageMost courses are mainly intended for Digital SLR users but we do sometimes get asked if Bridge or Hybrid cameras users can attend the Digital SLR photography courses. The proviso is that some of the more technical aspects of Digital SLR photography might not apply to the bridge camera but you will still find the course beneficial and enjoyable. If you are happy to accept these conditions below then you are welcome to attend. You will be informed during the course of any items do not apply to your bridge camera.

Is this photography course suitable for you?

1. If you want to understand the setting and the more technical aspects of your camera, as well as learning how to take better photographs, then you will be OK on the DSLR course. The proviso is that a few aspects of the DSLR will not apply to your camera, removable lenses etc.

2. If you really just want to take better pictures without getting too technical then please attend a compact camera photography course. This was the previous method. See here.

Student Testimonials

I'm an 18 year old student and I was worried about fitting in with the different age groups but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. This made me feel much more confident about taking photographs and I wasn't afraid to ask for any help. I loved my day and it was definitely worth flying over from Northern Ireland for the course.
Lydia Thomas

A very informative and perfectly paced photography course. It absolutely met all my needs and requirement. Highly recommended. Trev Barton.

Glen Tillyard

I’ve been on some cheaper camera courses than this one, and some more expensive ones, but none came close to being as good. Glen’s relaxed teaching manner and jargon free explanations must make this one of the best photography courses you can attend. The practical photography session, followed by the constructive feedback, was brilliant and the photo-editing demonstration using Picasa was a real bonus. I’ll be downloading that as soon as I get home. 10/10. Many Thanks for an excellent day.
Dave Kirby.
P.S. Thank you to Jacqui for the great lunch too.

This course covered much more than I expected but it wasn't rushed. Glen has a relaxed teaching style and if your not sure about anything he's patient and happy to re-track until you understand.
Tommy Needham

"Glen was very patient and nice to spend the day with. Thank you for an absolutely brilliant day and thanks to Jacqui for lunch." Greta Powell.

"I found this course thoroughly enjoyable and educating. I wasn't overwhelmed with technical jargon but Glen also didn't try to teach me to suck eggs. After some more practice with my new found skills I will booking on a more specialist course."
Kate Roberts

"I enjoyed this course very much and it was very well presented in lovely surroundings. I feel a lot more confident now."
Malc Mott.

Excellent Course with very easy instruction followed by practical experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and I will certainly be coming back for some one to one tuition. Kev Swain

Very enjoyable course with a good mix of theory and practical. It has increased my confidence in using my camera more than I would have thought possible in one day. Owen Rees

A very informative course which was well worth the time and cost. As the were only six on the course it almost felt like one to one teaching. I look forward to creating better pictures and I'm hoping to attend a more specialist course in the future. - Allan Crowson

This camera course made everything simple to understand and it makes you want to take the camera with you everywhere. I will look at landscape scenes from a totally different perspective now.

Norman Plummer

This Photography course offered the perfect mix of theory and practical photography. It's a brilliant way to learn how to take perfect pictures. I would definitely recommend any amateurs wanting to learn how to use their cameras properly.

Tom Pugh

I thoroughly enjoyed the day and after four years of owning a digital camera I've learned more in one day than I had in the previous four years put together. At last I understand what I'm doing and I look forward to taking much better photographs.
Derek Welsh

A fantastic day. I've learnt so much. Thank you Glen. I'll definitely be returning to do other courses as you explain everything in such a clear way. Really enjoyable. I really enjoyed the lunch too.
