Just a few lines thanking you for the Course yesterday. As I mentioned at the beginning of the course, I am relatively new to Photography and came straight into Digital without ever having the experience of a film SLR camera. It was becoming more difficult to learn all the other aspects that a DSLR could do through books and tips from others, so I looked to you for guidance .... and I am so glad I did.
I came to learn how to confidently move away from 'Auto' on my camera and learn what all the other selections meant on the dial. I came away fully confident, due to your easy approach and the 'Noddy to Big Ears' non-technical jargon. Not only did you explain how and why you use Aperture settings, Shutter settings, White balance and ISO, you also explained how to bring these all together to improve your images. You also took the time to make sure we knew where the settings were on our cameras and then practiced everything before moving on to the next section.
It was good to be able to ask simple questions that would normally be too embarrassing to ask other more experienced photographers than myself and also pace of the course left sufficient time without rushing forwards.
The afternoon photo-shoot to practice bringing what we had learnt together was most rewarding. It gave time to try different settings on single subjects and then to actually see them on-screen afterward to see the differences was an extra bonus.
I have now spent the following day out practicing and I have come home proud of what I have achieved, thank you.
